Trust is what causes a mountain climber to scale the heights of a great mountain. His life hangs in balance with one tight rope. Trust causes a skydiver to plunge from over ten-thousand feet from a plane with the hope that one little cord will do its job. trust can be a scary thing. But, to do great things we must be willing to face the tightrope of life. I have had many momnets when I feel God calling me out from the safe ledge to the plunging depth. Quite honestly, these moments seem like they may be the death of me. But, anything he has called me to thus far has proven how trustworthy he is, as i take one step at a time. Looking back, the the scariest steps from the past dont seem nearly as intimidating as I have continued to move forward. The fun part of our journey with God is that the adventure never ends. I believe God is quite adventurous himself! The story never stops. And, the mountains can become fun challenges for the taking.
I always thought the older and wiser i got, the more i would have a grasp on life. But, for me it's been quite the opposite. the soverignty of God becomes more clear with every day that passes. He has given us all free will, but, His infinite plan goes beyond what we can comprehend. At one of the hardest moments in my life, i discovered that i am not in control of anything that is to come. During this time, I learned to trust the Lord in ways that go beyond my comprehension. The trust of a child comes with such natural ease. As a child we are confident that we will be taken care of. We know that we are protected and provided for. We are unaware of the many dangers around us because of the safeguard our loved ones provide. God's heart is the same towards us. As His own, He preapres, protects, and provides even when we are unaware. When He calls us out from the ledge His hands arn't waiting for us to fall, but on each side of us before we take the first step. I have shared this truth with many friends "God will not call you out on the water and then let you drown." We know this, but, trust is not our natural instinct. But, It can become our choice.
I believe exciting adventures await each of us in this life. I never want to turn an adventure down he calls me on because of fear or doubt! My hope is that you will step out into all He calls you to. Recently, a friend and i were discussing the topic of a surrendered life. Being surrendered to God sounds so brave. so powerful. But, there is a tight rope to walk if you desire to live a surrendered life. Though he will never leave us on the journey, we do have to choose to go forward, one foot at a time. The dreams and visions God has placed in my heart go far beyond me. But when we come to the end of ourselves, we make room for him to show himslef mighty and powerful. What tightrope is He calling you to? Have you been peeking over the edge and declaring, it's to big, too hard, or too dangerous? The truth is if you try and plot it out and plan it in your own strenght, all this is true. But, if you admit you cannot do it alone and trust him to make the way and steady you, you will see the other side with great results. You will look back and say, "look what He did!" You weren't called to live a life of "what would it be like?" You were called to live a life of adventure, a life of excitement as you trust the creator to make his plan known to all with your steps of abandoned trsut in Him. You can do it! You can step out! Don't let one more moment of doubt creep in. Step out and into the unknown. He will meet you there. Actually, He is waiting on you!
