Yay for sunshine and kind people! In between clients I decided to get away and share a few moments with a cherished friend..Starbucks. I also got to share kindness with the barista and it made my heart feel good! And, I’m not going to lie, a cup of coffee always brings a smile to my heart! As I was pondering on how I could encourage my friends today, the topic of my own heart continued to rise. In the recent days, the subject of identity continues to pop up around me. I really wonder how many of us girls consistenly walk with confident, poised, trust in who we were created to be. Isn’t that one of our greatest desires?? - to be happy, content, and at ease with who we are. I have a dear friend and her name is Rachel. I so respect her and look up to her. She’s the kind of girl who walks into the room and you can tell she knows who she is. She consistently radiates confidence. It’s not something she tries to put on, but something she has discovered through her deep relationship with Jesus. One of my desires this year is to discover in a deeper way who I am in Christ. This year, I am determined to tap into that deep confidence that comes from knowing fully who I am in Christ to a whole new level. I can imagine and almost guarantee I am not the only girl out there who longs to walk in this bold confidence..every single day! Some may say, “Is it possible?” And, I absolutely think it is! I believe we are made to shine when we walk into the room and not just blend in. I believe just your presence and mine can light up a room, just by being there. I believe we are all created to change the atmosphere just by being ourselves. And the key to unlock your full potential and mine is knowing fully who we are created to be….His…
Things I am learning on this identity quest:
The world needs me to be the best Annie I can be. It doesn’t need a clone of someone else. Only I can bring to the table what is within me to see the world changed! And, it’s the same with you. Every quality within you was placed there by God; your boldness, your gentleness, your talent, and all of the other wonderful traits within you. What you offer is valid, needed, and beautiful!
I cannot expect someone other than Jesus to validate who I am. Only my Creator, who made me, can give me a deep sense of confidence and fulfillment. Others can inspire and encourage us, but, the foundation of who we are is found in knowing Him personally. As we get to know Him more, we begin to hear His thoughts for us and His plan for our lives.
Total freedom is found in knowing who I am in Jesus. When the truth and revelation of who I am meets my heart, I am unstoppable! No hindrances, no insecurities..just total fearless, untamed confidence that He is with me and I will not fail
I hope my thoughts and openness inspire and encourage you. You were made with purpose, by a creative God, who longs for you to know.. you are His.
