You Can
The lie was “I can’t”.
If you have followed my journey, you would probably not believe this by some of the big bold steps I have taken over the course of my life, but, deep inside as the opportunities grew bigger, there was a tiny seed of fear that I didn’t have what it takes to be a leader in the faith and fashion world.
Over some time, I began to deconstruct this lie with truth. The truth that says, “YES, I can, because I CAN do all things through Christ who gives me strength!” And, the powerful statement I love to encourage you with “what God calls you to, he equips and empowers you for”..yeah it’s for me too.
Over time, I began to believe the truth in place of the lie. It took time. It wasn’t erased over night. But, with every thought of “I can” came greater clarity and confidence. I began to see that the result of something is not up to be. My response must be obedience and the results are left up to God. And it’s the same with you, friend. Don’t worry about outcomes and what it takes to get to the finish line. Just focus on one step at a time, and knowing that God is with you in every step. You will soon begin to see that you truly can do all things, because Christ lives in you.
Practical Tip- Are you believing a lie that you don’t have what it takes in a particular area of your life? If so, it’s time to replace it with truth. Find a creative way to keep the truth before you until it becomes your reality. Put in on a sticky note and stick it on your vanity mirror. Save the reminder on your phone screen or make it your computer screen saver. Whatever it takes to visually see it before you is vital. Over time of seeing, saying, and believing the truth, you will find that the lie no longer has a hold of your heart.
Remember- Great things don’t happen overnight, they happen with one small and scary step at a time!
